<p><strong>Front Entrance Lighting</strong></p>
<p>The homeowners association is aware of the problem with the entrance lights.  We have replaced all the bulbs that were missing from the fixtures.  We also discovered that the photo cell which signals the lights to go on and off is not operating.  The system should be working properly once the photocell is replaced.</p>

<p>May 6th, 2011<br />
<strong>County hosting hazardous waste, electronics collection</strong><br />
The Leon County Solid Waste Management Division will hold a hazardous waste and electronics collection Saturday (May 7th) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Public Works Operations Center, 2280 Miccosukee Road. This will be the last of these collection events before the summer break, and the remote collection events will resume in September. For more information, call (850) 606-1803.</p>

Notice of Annual Meeting</strong></p>
<p>Dear Homeowner,</p>
<p>The Settler’s Creek Homeowners Association 2011 Annual Meeting will convene on February 1, 2011, at 6:30 p.m. at the Seminole Baptist Church— 3330 Mission Rd.</p>
<p>The business of the Association necessitates participation of its members.  Your presence at the meeting will greatly impact decisions that affect your neighborhood.  The primary purpose of the Annual Meeting is to elect the Board of Directors and to set the dues for the upcoming year.</p>
<p>Meeting Agenda</p>
<p>I.  Treasurers Report  (Handout will be provided at the meeting)</p>
<p>1.	Review 2010 income/expenses.<br />
2.	Projected 2011 budget.<br />
3.	Recommend dues to remain at $25.  Members to vote.</p>
<p>II.  Property Management Co Report  (Handout will be provided at the meeting)</p>

<p>As a courtesy to those with demanding schedules, speakers are strongly encouraged to limit their presentation/discussion to 3-5 minutes.</p>

<strong>CRIME ALERT</strong></p>
<p>There was a string of burglaries today, 11/9/10 in the Settlers Creek Townhomes and Settlers Creek subdivision.  At this time, 3 burglaries have been confirmed.  There were at least three suspects, 1 driving a getaway car, 1 who would knock on the front door to determan if anyone was home, and 1 who would go to the back door and break in if there was in fact no one home.  At least 3 suspects have been arrested.  Please take extra precaution to lock all entry ways, close garage doors at all times, and notify TPD of any suspicious activity.  More details will be added to this report when they become available.  </p>

<strong>Announcement:  Vehicle to be towed</strong></p>
<p>Ability Towing will be removing the abandoned Gran Prix that has been parked near the entrance of the neighborhood for the past several days.  We ask if any resident knows the owner of this vehicle, please have them remove it themselves or contact Ability Towing.  </p>

<STRONG>CRIME ALERT</STRONG><br />
Two of our neighbors have reported that their vehicles were broken into sometime during the late evening of 6/23/10.  Police officers say there were at least 5 reports of burglary in the neighborhood occurring around the same times.  Please make sure to lock your vehicles even if they are parked inside a garage.  At lease one of the burglarized vehicles was inside a garage.  Take extra precautions, lock all storage sheds, and do not leave garage doors open.  Please report suspicious activity to the police. <p><STRONG>The complete 04-27-10 Special Meeting minutes will be posted soon. In the meantime, the meeting is summarized as follows:</STRONG></p>
<p>Representatives from Management South and Lewis Property Management, along with a rep from Superior Bank, spoke to attendees on the advantages of having a property manager. Of the 15 mailed-in votes, 13 members voted in favor of and 2 against hiring a property manager. Members in attendance representing 27 lots voted unanimously to have the 2010 SCHOA Board of Directors to obtain at least three bids/proposals and then call another special meeting for residents to have input on which, if any, company is chosen. This process will be accomplished prior to the next special meeting, which is scheduled 05-18-10. </p>
<p>Resident Audrey Copeland was then nominated to be the 2010 SCHOA President. Members voted unanimously in favor of.</p>
<p>Resident Emilia Murphy was nominated to be the 2010 SCHOA Vice President. Members voted unanimously in favor of.</p>
